Happy Thanksgiving!

Our first Thanksgiving with our beautiful daughter, and we have so much to give thanks for! We're so blessed to have such a happy, healthy, beautiful baby girl, wonderful family and friends, a roof over our heads and food on the table. God has blessed us both in so many ways (including finding each other!).

We hosted dinner at our house this year, and had my parents, my sister and her family, and my dad's family over. Everything was wonderful and we really enjoyed spending the day with family and stuffing ourselves on our fattening Thanksgiving spread! Time to hit the gym and get back on the diet!

Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving!

Savanna wanted to feed herself sweet potatoes!

Wait, what am I supposed to do when you say "cheese"?

Savanna and Great-Grandma

I'm ready for a nap with Mr. Bear!

Savanna's sitting up!

We got back from our trip, and suddenly Savanna decided she wanted to sit all by herself! It went from toppling over after 2 seconds before our trip, to completely being able to sit up on her own for several minutes at a time. I can't believe she's growing up so fast! She's starting to scoot on her belly, but only backwards. But I'm sure the army crawl is coming soon!

My little mini-me. Yes, I'm a big dork!

Vacation time!

We took a road trip with Savanna and drove 13 hours down to Alabama. We split the drive into 2 days, and Savanna was an absolute angel the whole trip! We were so proud of her. We spent a couple days in Mobile with Paul's family, and then hopped on the Carnival Holiday and headed to Cozumel Mexico, while Paul's mom watched Savanna. We missed her terribly, but we knew she was in good hands, and thankfully, we had full cell phone access onboard and were able to call everyday. Savanna and Granny had a great time together and Paul's sisters and niece went over and helped Granny out to give her a break.

Our cruise was wonderful and much needed! It was so nice being off work! We went with our good friends Tim and Crista and had such a wonderful time, even though the first night I got "Cristified" and was severely hungover the entire next day. We played some roulet and poker (which everyone will agree I suck at when the drinks started taking effect). Cozumel was beautiful! I only wish we had more than 1/2 day there. We rented a Jeep and drove around the island and stopped at a private beach and tiki bar, had some drinks and some great food! The 3rd day of our cruise was a little disappointing...we woke up to 10 ft swells and were hanging on for dear life, and it was cold and windy outside. Paul loved it, but I spent the day in bed doped up on Dramamine!

We couldn't wait to get back though and see our angel! The smiles she gave us were indescribable and just made us melt!

Happy Halloween!

Savanna is almost 6 months and is getting ready to sit up by herself! Here she is in her Halloween costume! I took her to the Boo at the Zoo and she loved seeing all the animals and passed out as soon as we got back in the car!

Here are a couple more in her Bumbo seat!

5 Months and Pumpkin Patch

We took Savanna to a pumpkin patch this past weekend and they had a petting zoo with goats, bunnies, piglets, chicks and miniature horse! She loved seeing all the animals! She's getting longer, and finally is getting some hair on the top of her head. She loves her baby food...she has gotten sweet potatoes, apples, homemade butternut squash, and peas (which she hated, just like her mom!). We're moving on to bananas and avocado next. She loves sitting up, but she still needs support for now. She's teething and drooling like crazy, and loves chewing on her fists or mommy's knuckles! Here's Savanna in her jumper, which she loves to chew on!
